ABOUT

I’m Katie. I’m a CG technical director, coder, and animator in Los Angeles.

I did previs and tool dev/scripting on Avatar: The Way of Water (render quality control) and Avatar: Fire and Ash (sequence artist and technical director). I’ve also been employed as a CG artist for the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute.

I create animation for a web series called Bugmuthur’s Story Box. I do other miscellaneous behind-the-curtain projects for Bugmuthur and Indigo. Bugmuthur is powered by a custom motion capture Maya plugin that I wrote in my nights and weekends while working full time on the Avatar sequels.

I have experience working with variety of DCCs including Maya, Motionbuilder, the Adobe Suite, and Blender. I have worked as an artist and developer in virtual production and game engine workflows, using both out-of-the box functionality and properietary extensions. I can code in Python, HTML, and CSS. I am comfortable working with git. I have traditional art training.

I am available for freelance animation and TD work in the upcoming months. I can help you with your pipeline, or use my own pipeline to create moving images for you. If you have technical question or are looking to hire, please contact me at kt@ktcg.art.
