I create animated films and do tech-augmented fortune telling. In executing these activities, I code animation tools.

Telling fortunes and telling animated stories are similar practices. Divination techniques are skills that a reader uses to access her intuitive vision; her power comes from articulating that vision in an immersive, empathic, and entertaining manner. The history of American animation overlaps substantially with fortune-telling in the context of vaudeville and traveling carnivals.

I read palms under the stage name Indigo Coiyle. My offstage name is Katie. I was a previs artist and technical director on Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar: Fire and Ash. Prior to that, I worked as an animation designer for the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute. I’m in Los Angeles. I come from somewhere around Champaign, Illinois.
